MERRIMUSE / COOKIES & BROWSER CHOICES

Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This page explains cookies and similar browser tools on MerriMuse. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

What cookies do

A cookie is a small piece of information that a website asks your browser to store. It can help a site recognize a signed in user, remember a setting, or carry out a security check. Cookies have different purposes and lifetimes.

Some are removed when a browsing session ends. Others remain until they expire or you delete them. A cookie being present does not, by itself, mean it is being used for advertising.

Our current setup

MerriMuse currently runs on WordPress with hosting security and caching. Our theme does not add advertising cookies, a Pinterest tag, or third party analytics tags. It also serves its fonts from this website rather than an external font provider.

We do not currently offer a newsletter signup or active affiliate tracking links. If optional analytics, advertising, or subscription tools are added, we will update these pages and provide any choices required for the way those tools work.

Administration and settings

WordPress uses cookies for administrator authentication. Signed in administrators may also receive cookies that remember their interface settings. A temporary test cookie can be used on the login screen to check whether a browser accepts cookies.

WordPress can also remember the selected language on its login screen. These functions relate to using and managing the website. They are different from a visitor being tracked for advertising.

Security and contact form checks

Hosting or security features may use browser storage or cookies to distinguish normal requests from abusive traffic. An automatic browser check may appear before a page opens. The details can vary as hosting protections change.

Our contact form uses a security token, a concealed spam field, and a temporary submission limit. The submission limit is stored on the server using a protected IP based hash. It is not an advertising cookie and does not create a marketing profile.

Links to other websites

Opening a merchant, social network, or another external website puts you under that website’s cookie and privacy practices. Its cookies are not controlled by MerriMuse.

Where affiliate links are introduced, the destination or affiliate service may use tracking to attribute a qualifying purchase. Such links will be disclosed, and our Affiliate Disclosure will explain the relationship.

Your browser controls

You can usually review, block, or delete cookies through your browser’s privacy settings. Controls differ between browsers and devices. Removing cookies on one device will not necessarily remove them on another.

Blocking necessary cookies can prevent administrator login or interfere with security features. You do not need to accept advertising cookies from our theme to read the magazine, because the theme does not currently set them.

Questions and changes

We will revise this page when the services we use materially change. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
